This is something very novel, a new tool that in addition to analytics it actually captures every movement and click of the mouse – and you can watch it! It’s called Clixpy.com and the demo has to be seen to get a better understanding, but the applications for this product run deep.

Clixpy’s catchline is welcome to your user’s head and that’s not far from the truth. I’ve seen the software before, I could replay the recorded screen action taken by my staff during a client call…and it certainly was enlightening. In my old job someone might be calling to determine why they had a $2000 charge on their statement and the employee might be emailing their boyfriend about the big pub crawl last night instead of listening to the client. However, I digress.

Clixpy does have a fee based on the number of captures you want to review, but it is an amazing tool. It allows you to see where the user directs the mouse, where they linger and hover, how they click and navigate. I feel certain that for a brand new site or a site that’s just made changes it could be a fantastic tool for a webmaster or business owner. When we design a site we feel we know how the user will react – but having the ability to see it in a method that runs beyond just data is quite remarkable.
