I get caught up in "what do people want to read," instead of "what do I want to write?" My blog posts started to come much easier and (I hope) began to offer so much more when I quit trying to write for some particular audience and just started writing. I look at my blog (it's a personal essay blog, so I'm really not limited by topic - or by any need to "monetize") as the writing that Charles Bukowski once said you had to do every darn day if you wanted to be a writer. So my blog is sort of warm-up exercises for that book that I may never write, or for the autobiography I may never publish! The forum however, has been helpful.
