Classy icons are an important touch to a site with a contemporary feel. Many developers are designing entire batches of icons to match for a complete social media linking.

Stock and generic images are readily available but hunting down more interesting and bold designs is a small (and easy) touch that truly adds a little more zest to a web design. Take the time to seek out new designs, I found over 100 custom twitter logos when I did a search last night ranging from the very cartoon based images to modern and metallic. There are so many great designers providing these icons for free and awareness of them is key.

My favorite that I found this weekend was this set of chrome social media icons which look fantastic.  As with any shared creative work I strongly endorse that you take the time to read and understand the license agreement set out by the creator.
